The views were then published to GeoServer as web feature service (WFS) layers.  This was done by logging into GeoServer hosted on AcuGIS at travel-letters.org/geoserver.  The first step was to to create a new Workspace called “travelers.”  Within this workspace, a new store was created called “kind_letters.”  Since this project uses the AcuGIS web host, GeoServer is hosted the same place as PostgreSQL.  The connection parameters still use localhost as the host, and the rest of the fields could be straightforwardly copied from PostgreSQL.

The next step was to select the Layers option and add new layers from travelers:kind_letters.  This brings up a list of available tables and views from PostgreSQL.  All of the views were published as Web Feature Services (WFS).
