This site provides access to the travel letters of Mrs. Jemima Kindersley, first published in 1777 as Letters from the Island of Teneriffe, Brazil, the Cape of Good Hope, and the East Indies. In addition, there are maps, images, and descriptions of her journey.

Mrs. Kindersley published 68 letters detailing her observations about her international travels and life in India during the 1760s. Each letter has been transcribed here from the book, Letters from the Island of Teneriffe, Brazil, the Cape of Good Hope, and the East Indies. London: J. Nourse, 1777. The date, location, and page numbers of the letters have also been included.
